THE RIGHT PROFESSIONAL

Most people spend months with the wrong practitioner. An Accredited Exercise Physiologist prescribes exercise as medicine — clinically, specifically, for your injury, your condition, and your life. Longer. Stronger. Freer.

Understanding your care options

Which Professional
Is Right for You?

All three professions have a place. They serve different needs at different stages of care. Understanding the distinction helps you get to the right professional sooner — and avoid months of the wrong treatment.

A physiotherapist is your first point of call for acute injury, structural diagnosis, and hands-on manual therapy. Their primary tools are passive — mobilisation, manipulation, dry needling, and guided early movement. They are excellent at stabilising and diagnosing the acute problem.

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-trained allied health clinician who specialises in what comes next: exercise prescribed as the primary clinical treatment. Where passive therapy stabilises, exercise physiology builds — managing chronic conditions, driving long-term rehabilitation, and developing the capacity to prevent problems from returning. In practice, physio and EP work best together.

A personal trainer holds a Certificate III/IV in fitness and works with generally healthy individuals on fitness and performance. They are not allied health professionals and do not have clinical scope for complex medical or injury presentations.

The project.97
Approach

01
Assess Before
Prescribing

Every program starts with a thorough clinical assessment. We take the time to understand your history, your movement, your conditions, and your goals — before writing a single exercise.

02
Exercise as
Medicine

Prescribed at the right dose, for the right condition, with the right progression. Evidence-based, specific, and built around your clinical presentation — not a generic program recycled from the internet.

03
Built Around
Your Life

Your program works with your equipment, your schedule, and your capacity. Home, gym, or anywhere in the world — it adapts to your life and evolves as you progress.

04
Independence
First

The goal is to give you the tools, knowledge, and strength to manage your own health. Strong, capable, and free — not dependent on the next appointment to feel okay.

Your Treatment Journey

From first consultation to long-term independence — here is what working together actually looks like.

01
Initial Consultation & Assessment

A thorough 30–45 minute clinical assessment covering your medical history, current symptoms, movement patterns, and goals. Nothing is prescribed until we have a clear picture of where you are starting from — and what you actually need.

02
Clinical Diagnosis & Goal Setting

We identify the root cause of your condition — not just the symptoms — and set clear, measurable goals aligned with what you want to achieve. Return to sport. Pain-free movement. Long-term management of a chronic condition. Your goals drive the entire plan.

03
Personalised Program Design

A clinical exercise program built specifically for your body, your condition, and your current capacity. Evidence-based, correctly progressed, and delivered through the Newie app with video demonstrations for every exercise. Not a template — built for you.

04
Implementation & Ongoing Coaching

You start the program with active guidance and accountability throughout. Online clients receive direct WhatsApp coaching support between sessions. Face-to-face clients receive supervised in-session delivery. Your EP is in your corner — not just during appointments.

05
Review, Progression & Long-Term Independence

Regular clinical reassessment tracks your progress, updates the program, and keeps you moving toward your goals. The end goal is not the next appointment — it is giving you the tools, knowledge, and physical capacity to manage your own health. Strong. Independent. Built to last.

The philosophy

No one should have to live in pain. No one should feel weak, restricted, or at the mercy of their own body. Being strong, moving freely, and having the capacity to do what you love — that's not optional.

The goal of every client interaction is simple: understand what's going on, build a plan that works, and make sure you have the tools to keep going — because the best version of you is capable, independent, and built to last.

Real Outcomes

Client results are coming. Testimonials and outcomes will live here — follow along on Instagram to see real stories as they happen.

FAQ

Do I need a referral?
No referral is required to see an EP. However, if your GP writes you a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on up to 5 sessions per calendar year. NDIS and DVA participants are also welcome — all billing is handled through Halaxy.
What conditions do you work with?
Musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, lower back and spine conditions, knee and hip issues, post-surgery recovery, return-to-sport rehab, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, weight management, mental health, cancer recovery, neurological conditions, and general deconditioning. If you're unsure whether EP suits your situation, send a DM on Instagram before booking.
How do online consultations work?
All online consultations run via Google Meet (30–45 minutes) — you'll need a device with a camera. Online consultations are available to clients anywhere in Australia and internationally. Your program is delivered through the Newie app with video demonstrations for every exercise. WhatsApp coaching runs between sessions. Programs can be tailored to home, gym, or any equipment you have access to.
Where are face-to-face sessions held?
Face-to-face consultations and weekly supervised sessions are available in Brisbane, QLD. Online consultations are available to clients in Australia and internationally. If you're not in Brisbane, online delivery is just as effective for the vast majority of presentations.
How do I pay?
Consultations are invoiced through Halaxy — secure online card payment, with Medicare claiming available. Subscriptions run on weekly direct debit through GoCardless via Newie. International clients pay in AUD. No lock-in contracts — cancel with 7 days' notice anytime.
What's the difference between an EP and a personal trainer?
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist holds a university degree in clinical exercise physiology and is registered with ESSA as an allied health professional. EPs are trained to prescribe exercise for medical conditions, manage complex presentations, and work within Medicare, NDIS, and DVA systems. A personal trainer holds a Certificate III/IV and is excellent for healthy individuals focused on general fitness — but when injury, chronic conditions, or complex health is involved, an EP is the right choice.
